Thanksgiving for the Year 2009

I was supposed to post this yesterday, but being the procrastinator that I am, I wasn’t able to finish writing this entry until this minute. (Warning: Facebook can be really addicting and can cause terrible delays to tasks that need to get done!) I came across a Thanksgiving Contest by Mylene, and decided I could give it a try since I’m going to post about my blessings for 2009 anyway. It’s hitting two birds with one stone! :)

This year hasn’t been perfect. In fact, I encountered a few challenges this year. Me and my Bubby lost our jobs a month prior to my due date to give birth, but I want to thank my wonderful mom for shouldering the hospital expenses and buying Sanjo all his needs and the Fisher Price rocker that Sanjo and I love (I love it because it keeps him quiet and entertained so I can do my tasks even when he’s awake). Of course, the biggest blessing is the birth of my little Sanjo, who is every bit of a darling and is our little bundle of joy. I am thankful that Sab has been really healthy this year, except for cough, colds and allergies, she’s pretty much really healthy so I’m really, really thankful for that. I have just started blogging a few months ago, and I am very thankful that I got to meet new friends here in the blogosphere. And for the money making opportunities that I was able to receive, for those who referred me to the sites where I now earn my bread and butter from.. Thank you. Oh, and I want to thank my Bubby for making an effort to make our relationship work. I know it’s tough for both of us because we have a lot of adjustment to do and responsibilities to face, but I know we’ll get through. Next year will be brighter, and I say this not just for my family but for everyone.

How about you? What are the things you are grateful for this year? You might want to join the Thanksgiving Contest and share it with us.

I think I want to get hitched.

My younger sister is 19 years old, and she just got engaged a few days ago. She’s still very young, I know. But, I would rather not say anything to discourage her but instead give her my own words of advice and to let her know that I’m here to support her whatever happens. (I eloped with my ex boyfriend when I was 17 so I really can’t tell her not to do it because of that.)

Well, chatting with her and her fiance about the wedding..made me think that I want to get married too. Who doesn’t, right? But I don’t want a wedding that’s super grandiose (as is the custom here in the Philippines). I want a wedding that’s garish but with only our families and closest friends. I want a stunning venue complete with beautifully arranged flowers, delectable food, and of course, the perfect bridal gown. I imagine my little Sab being our flower girl, and little Sanjo as the ring bearer. So cute! My Bubby hasn’t formally proposed yet, but being that we have been living together and I got pregnant, the talk about a wedding just came out naturally. We didn’t want to rush it though. I didn’t want to get married just because I’m already pregnant. This may sound oh so cheesy and oh so cliche, but I want to get married because I love the person. Period.  We both wanted a beach wedding, or something to that effect. We both love the beach, even Sab, so it’s nothing short of perfect if we could have our wedding on the beach.

I don’t know when we will get married..maybe 2011 or 2012. I’m just keeping my fingers crossed I get to say “I do” before I hit the big 3-0. (*Ahem!*)

Mommy Moments – Chore Time

mommy moments

My daughter is just 2 and a half years old, but we have already begun “training” her to do household chores. My mom simply won’t want her to be like me who grew up so pampered that up until now that I already have a family of my own, there are still some things at home that I don’t know how to do. (I had a nanny until I was in high school. So there.) This is why my mom wants Sabyn to learn to be independent and be able to do things around the house. We’re not expecting her to do the laundry or iron clothes, but simple things likes cleaning up after playing is good enough for me.

Here’s Sabyn about to keep her toy (kind of blurry though, sorry!):

I don’t think this is considered being a “chore” per se, but she’s helping out, so I thought it’s cute to add here as well. She’s being a nice big sister and helping feed baby Sanjo:

‘Till next week Mommies!
