Life of a Samal kid

I was supposed to post this last week, but there was just too many things I had to get done.

My family and I went out for a drive and we decided to stop by the Paseo, which is quite similar to the “Baywalk” along Roxas Boulevard in Manila. There were so many things in common with Baywalk, such as the food stalls, lovers walking and friends hanging out. One thing stood apart though. These were the kids on small boats. What were they doing? They wait for the visitors to throw coins in the water, and they dived to get them. Some people might probably find it amusing, but for me, it breaks my heart. These children had to wait and dive for almost a whole day under the scorching sun for a few coins. And they probably don’t even get enough to buy a full meal. It’s sad. But this is the sad reality of how life is for many Filipino families. Life is hard, and this is just a means for them to be able to put food on the table.

CM Relocates!

I prayed so long and hard..and I don’t know if you were able to read about what my heart has been yearning for, but you can backtrack to that post here. I have been telling a few blogger friends how I miss being with my Sab, because she didn’t live with me ever since I got pregnant with Sanjo. Well, my wish has come true at last. I am now here in Zamboanga City, and what should have been just a vacation turned out to be a big move for me after all. Yes, I will no longer be going back to the busy life of being a metro mom. I will be staying here..for good. I love the simple life of the province, what with the fresh air and the very cheap cost of living. I know I will love it here.

And here’s a shot with me and my kids during Sab and Sanjo’s double celebration.

Pardon me, I know this isn’t one of my best shots. I love it though.. :)

“Ma-Ma”

I was supposed to post this the other day, but was just too busy to do it. LOL. Sanjo sat on my lap while I was working, and I was busy chattering about so as not to keep him bored. He likes having people talk to him, and he usually coos back or at least mouths an “ooh” or an “aah”. I was just surprised when he suddenly said “ma-ma”. And we were really surprised. JC was washing the dishes at that time, but he heard it too. He even “pretended” (not really just pretend but I know he’s sort of serious also) to be hurt. LOL. I guess every baby’s first word is mama. It’s just easier to say than Daddy or anything else. Hmm..
